Position: Construction Superintendent

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Experience: Supervisory: 2 years (Preferred), Construction: 5 years (Preferred)

Reports to: Executive Vice President

Location: This position will operate out of our office in Waterloo, ON.

Schedule: 8-hour shift,  Monday to Friday

Work Remotely: No

Additional Pay: Bonus pay

Construction Superintendent Position:

To lead part of our dedicated team, we are looking for a Construction Superintendent.

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, this position will provide supervision of all site construction activities, as well as coordinate and supervise subcontractors.

Responsibilities of the Construction Superintendent include:

  • Material procurement, delivery coordination, and inventory control
  • Monitoring overall project schedule
  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, quality, and schedule
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions and provide day-to-day assistance on scheduling, engineering, purchasing, material control, and cost accounting
  • Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
  • Day-to-day planning and supervision of the work of Subcontractors. This includes analyzing methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, and work schedules
  • Coordinate jobs so that proper tools and equipment are ready for crews when required, maintaining the control of tools and equipment so that they are returned to the shop, maintained, and used properly


The qualified candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Construction-related diploma or degree, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience working on-site as part of large scale developments
  • Experience in High Rise Construction is a must
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and engineering drawings
  • Minimum five to seven (5-7) years in the construction industry, with two to three (2-3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to communicate technical information to employees, customers, and outside parties in an accurate and concise manner in both a written and verbal mode
