2019 has been quite the year for us at Stonerise Construction. With another year of milestones, exciting projects and defining moments in the books, we’re looking forward to supporting community building in new, innovative and forward thinking ways in the new year. With so many things on the horizon, we wanted to highlight some of the exciting and rewarding moments that took place this year.
We completed our first project as a General Contractor.
Our team of skilled estimators, project managers, project coordinators and site superintendents have enabled us to build the capacity to respond quickly to project tenders with competitive bids that encompass a full scope of work; from concept through to completion. In April 2019, we finalized construction on downtown Galt’s Parkway Back Clinic. This commercial space was the first project we completed as a general contractor, as we transformed a historic, 100 year old house that was formerly a spa into downtown Galt’s newest chiropractor/massage studio. The scope of work for this project involved significantly reinforcing the existing structure to add potential float tubs and refinishing the entire interior of the building. The clinic now serves as a beautiful asset to the community, offering massage, physiotherapy, chiropractic, pre and post natal, rehabilitation and chronic pain services to their clients.
From Schneiders to The Metz.
Fast forward to June 2019, we made some exciting progress on the former Schneiders meat processing plant in Kitchener. Stonerise Construction is proud to be partnered with Auburn Developments, who purchased the property in 2017, on this unique, historic development. Just as we were in full demolition mode on the project last June, a naming contest took place within the community to name the new development.
Now known as “The Metz,” a nod to the iconic Schneider family—we’re excited to begin new construction on the twenty-seven acre property. As we look forward to a new year, we’re proud to be working on a project of such significance as part of a broader initiative of urban renewal within our region. Not only is this a unique opportunity to reshape a local neighbourhood, we think this project will transform the city of Kitchener in stunning fashion.

We brought comfortable, modern living to the Niagara region.
This month, we announced that construction is nearing final completion on our Niagara Terrace project, and the building is now accepting registrants for access to the first release of suites. Niagara Terrace is Niagara Falls’ newest residential development, and will be our first completed project in the region. We operated as the construction manager and general contractor on this project, a building comprised of 39 units offering 1- and 2-bedroom suites with designer styled finishes.
We are thrilled to add Niagara Terrace to our growing portfolio of residential and commercial developments across Southern Ontario. As the Niagara region continues to be showcased as a thriving place to work, invest, play and live—we’re pleased to be contributing to its further development and building a community for residents to call home.
