What does this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #EachforEqual, mean for you in your professional life?
Working for a company that hears everyone’s voice equally is rare.  I wish everyone could have their worth valued the Stonerise Way; based on effort and results, not based on parameters that are outside of their control.  With the anticipated workforce shortage predicted in construction over the next decade, our industry desperately needs to evolve and welcome everyone with warm arms.

What advice would you give your younger self?
Know your job and don’t be humble about it! As a woman in the construction industry, you need to instill and have the confidence and trust in your talents that the industry doesn’t innately have.

International Women’s Day is a day for us to reflect on how far we have come and how far we still need to go for Women to truly be equal.  Thank you to all the women who have paved the way so far and I hope my career struggles and professionalism have helped move us forward in some small way.

What does this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #EachforEqual, mean for you in your professional life?
IWD in my professional life means ensuring all people have equal opportunities to make the most of their lives and talents and having the same opportunities and benefits as men.

What advice would you give your younger self?
Take a leap of faith in yourself. You’ve got nothing to lose but everything to gain. If you fail, you’ll become smarter, If you succeed, you’ll gain even more self-confidence. You will never know how much you can achieve unless you try. Stay focused and invest in yourself. Take every opportunity to learn. Look at life as a progressive journey and you’ll always achieve what you set your mind to.

Stonerise Construction is so fortunate to have these amazing women as part of our team. Thank you for sharing your empowering advice and experiences with us all. Happy #IWD!
