After extensive planning with the City of Waterloo, Stonerise started the 12-acre development project known as The Barrel Yards in 2011, one of the largest brownfield projects in Ontario.
The Barrel Yards project is comprised of six large multi-unit residential buildings, the Delta Waterloo hotel, long-term care residence and an office tower complex in Uptown Waterloo across from Silver Lake and Waterloo Park. This large interconnected project includes over 1,300 apartments, live-work units, a park and an underground parking garage with 2,400 spaces, a significant and logistically challenging site.
The Cooperage North is a 22-storey building with 245 suites and one-storey underground parking as part of the 12-acre parking deck. The amenities include a library, movie theatre, fitness facility, yoga room, saunas, billiards room, rooftop lounge and patio.
The Cooperage North tower is connected to Cooperage South tower by a three-storey townhouse link which houses twelve individual live/work suites.
